mix your media school

A project about new media, audiovisual technology and open education in the primary and secondary school.

Promoted by Fondazione Campania dei Festival, Mix Your Media School is a new project about image education and new media, whose proposal has been selected among the most innovative ventures of experimental nature in the audiovisual teaching field this year. The goal is to show students how to access open digital libraries and tools to create cross-media contents, especially thanks to the Open Educational Resources provided for free by the Italian Chapter of Creative Commons, listed among the project’s partners.

Among his objectives, Mix Your Media School aims to enhance students’ creativity and learning by opening their minds to the possibilities given by new technologies in the cultural field, thanks to the creation of original storytelling projects and the training on the basics of copyright and intellectual law. Moreover, thanks to an informed use of open web tools and softwares, student will have a chance to take part in a debate about intellectual property and the fruition of cultural heritage through new devices such as social networks and streaming platforms.

The training laboratory, which has both a theoretical and practical section, began on the 18th of October 2023 and will end halfway through December 2023. Finally, students’ works will be presented during the closing day of the project and later released on the main web and social pages.
