SIPARI APERTI

category: live performance
edition: 2017

“Sipari Aperti” (2017) supplemented the cultural offering of the town of Avellino with a series of theatre shows held at Teatro Gesualdo. The themes of alienation, difference, and vulnerability were the focus of the event, which was promoted by the Commission for Cultural Policies of the municipality of Avellino, and executive produced by Fondazione Campania dei Festival with the financial support of Regione Campania.

This special project opened the doors of the main city theatre to contemporary theatre and art music, promoting the local cultural offering with a program devoted to social themes. These themes were also developed by the multiple teams that participated in the training workshops on scenic arts.

The administrative center of Irpinia transformed itself into an open space of exchange, thanks to the participation of famous Italian actors, musicians, and artists, as well as young people and experts from multiple cultural associations and theatre and music groups from the area. Sipari Aperti was an engaging moment of encounter to “read and decode” the increasingly-complex present.

The companies featured in the program were Teatro Potlach, Pippo Delbono, Maldestro, James Senese Napoli Centrale, la BandaBaleno, Tam Tam 2.0, Spiro Scimone e Francesco Sframeli, Enzo Moscato, l’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, Il Tappeto di Iqbal, Ute Lemper.
