“We will be working with a group of adolescents and explore the different aspects of sustainability – says Swaantje Gieskes –. What could that be in our times? What does it mean to the generation that is facing severe environmental issues? Is there even anything sustainable for the next generation? Where is shelter in a world of chaos? Can it be found within oneself or outside? Can we turn the world around to a sustainable place? How would that be?
What do the elderlys need to hear and understand about the way of thinking and living of young people in order to create sustainable living for future generations? A theatrical/performative experiment”.

SWAANTJE GIESKES
Germany
She is a dancer, choreographer, and acting coach. She graduated from drama school and studied Flamenco in Sevilla, Granada, Berlin, and Hamburg. The encounter with Juan Carlos Lerida, founder of the empiric flamenco, shifted her approach to flamenco. In 2021 she completed a trilogy about raw materials (concrete, elastics, steel). Since 2018 she is a permanent dancer in the Swiss company el_contrabando. For more than ten years she is teaching heterogeneous theatre groups, focusing on creating a trustful environment to give room for finding personal expression in the creating process.

VALERIA APICELLA
Naples
A contemporary artist who delves into the bodily experience as a process of integration. Her performances, visual and sound works are an embodiment of sensory fabric and memory. Her installations, performed or filmed, evoke suggestions, associations, expanded temporality, and emotional landscapes. A classically trained dancer, she has worked for twenty years in Paris with international companies and for her creations. Since 2019, she has been the artistic director of puntozerovaleriaapicella, an independent space for interdisciplinary art and research in the Bourbon venue of the ex- Lanificio.

THE CONTEXT
Cooperativa Sociale Dedalus – Progetto Officine Gomitoli
Dedalus has forty years of experience in the Naples area, dealing with the social exclusion of vulnerable groups, the local economy, and local development.
Since 1986, it has turned its attention towards migratory flows and the rights and duties of migrant people on the road to emancipation and citizenship. The Officine Gomitoli project was born from the will of the Cooperativa Dedalus,
to promote opportunities for adolescents and young migrants and Italians in the area, creating a place of sociability and meeting, which could become a permanent reference for educational, artistic, and training activities.
