The slogan remains the same, “The theatre is reborn with you”, because one year after the outbreak of the pandemic, the revival of the performing arts sector relies on good news stories. A new Festival is ready to kick off since this 2021 edition, directed by Ruggero Cappuccio for the 5^th consecutive year, will go down in history for being the one in which the Napoli Teatro Festival changes its name to Campania Teatro Festival.

It is a way for anticipating the future of a Festival which will increasingly expand its cultural reach to the whole Campania Region from 2022 onwards, to highlight the beauty of the architectural and landscape heritage where the events will be held. This year the Festival changes its name also to witness the real commitment of the Campania Region, which has always supported this multidisciplinary festival, organized by the Fondazione Campania dei Festival under the direction of Alessandro Barbano, by combining the national and the international culture with some of the most evocative and suggestive sites besides those of Naples.

A rich program that will be valued and enhanced thanks to the participation of many important theatre companies belonging to the Italian scenario and abroad, but also thanks to the talent and the professionalism shown in these last years by many artistic productions working in Campania with a social purpose. There will be more than 1500 workers of the entertainment industry employed in the upcoming 2021 Festival edition: this fact must be regarded as a concrete signal of support addressed to those who daily continue to endeavor the negative economic effects of the pandemic. Theatre is constantly a field in trouble, and it is time for a government to play its role, as in many other European countries, by acknowledging rights that are still denied.

This year the main venue of the Festival will be the Real Bosco di Capodimonte, where eight stages will be set up in order to make a map of a real theatrical citadel, including Cortile della Reggia, Casino della Regina, Giardino Paesaggistico di Porta Miano, Manifattura della Porcellana, Giardino Paesaggistico Pastorale, Praterie della Capraia, Giardino dei Principi and Cisternone.
