The second edition of Quartieri di vita will begin on December 8th and will end on December 22nd. This year there will be workshops, shows, meetings, and exhibitions that will involve, in addition to the capital cities, numerous other centres of the region, including Salerno, Avellino, Caserta, and Benevento.

From Bagnoli to San Giovanni a Teduccio, from Sanità to Castel Volturno, from Forcella to Salerno, up to Mugnano, Avellino, Solofra, Caserta, Quartieri di vita takes on the task of offering to many artistic organisations operating in risk areas, the concrete possibility of tracing new theatrical paths of exploration, with the support in the expenses of designing and organising activities.

The 14 projects, selected for the second edition of the Festival, activate several fields of research and stage writing: for example, on the creative mystery of childhood, on the Campania latest civil background, on meeting and relationships with different people and cultures which is more and more common nowadays, on personal security and urban security, on the collective vitality of people.

In the Christmas period, the outcomes of the different training and production paths, including shows ready for the stage, and even studies, touring performances, concerts, and exhibitions will have a concluding moment of being shown to the public, after which there is an open discussion.

An entrance ticket for Quartieri di vita is going to cost symbolic 2 and 5 euros, which will be used to raise funds for the Pediatric hospital Santobono-Pausilipon. On some specific dates, a few hundred places will be reserved for associations, volunteers and social workers operating in the area.
The 2017 edition will conclude with an international event of training and theatre: the masterclass with Willem Dafoe, expected to arrive in Naples with the director Romeo Castellucci for the national premiere of the show The Minister’s Black Veil.
