Quartieri di vita 2018
Quartieri di vita, the winter section of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, will start on the 4th of December and will end on the 20th of the same month. Also this year the project will involve along with Naples many other venues of the Campania Region: from the Istituto Penitenziario minorile di Nisida to the Complesso di Santa Chiara in Solofra, from San Giovanni a Teduccio to Caserta, Benevento and Salerno.
Quartieri di vita presents workshops, performances, meetings, and exhibitions and it undertakes to provide many artistic realities, including those operating in troubled areas, with the concrete possibility of charting new theatrical paths, experimentation, and work, supporting the costs of design, training and setting up.
16 projects have been selected for the 3rd edition of the Festival that empowers many fields of investigation and stage writing topics, such as the creative mystery of childhood, or the recent civil past of Campania, the encounters and relationships with different people and cultures, the experience of prison, the world of patients with mental disorders.
The outcomes of the several training paths and production processes – including shows just ready for the stage, and even research topics, itinerant performances, concerts, and exhibitions – will end their run before the Christmas holiday whenever the final performances will be shown to the audience.
Launching and achieving Quartieri di vita becomes an extraordinary opportunity to combine several expressive elements, offering the concrete possibility to seek new meanings of civil and social growth through the creative paths of young theatre artists. With this project the Fondazione comes into the suburbs traversed by social trouble and chooses some local associations as outposts for resistance to degradation, also involving different theatre companies to deal directly with social emergencies.
An issue that will be back again in the coming years so that the Napoli Teatro Festival “will not be simply restricted to the ephemeral sublime but it will give consideration to the ‘sublime difficulties’ of everyone.
The proceeds from the initiative will be donated to the Istituto Nazionale Tumori IRCCS “Fondazione G. Pascale”.

Tickets cost € 3 and can be purchased in all performances venues (from one hour before the show starts).
