What binds Antigone di Sophocles to Antonio Barracano protagonist of the Mayor of the Rione Sanità of Eduardo De Filippo? A common sense of justice? A moral law of its own that goes beyond the Law? Could written rules be enough to regulate the chaos of the world? These are the questions that the latest production of the PROTEATRO Cooperative tries to answer, through a text written and directed by the playwright Francesco Scotto.
The viewer will experience a metateatral journey through two characters who seek and hope to change the world through the strength of their own moral law.
The text does not pretend to find definitive answers, but rather to propose other questions concerning the common civil life that concern us all from Sophocles until today.
The docufilm, which recounts the stages to arrive at the staging of the text, is also the pretext for discovering the meaning and necessity of “making theater” in the suburbs.
