Magnifico Visbaal Teatro (BN)
PROJECT
Recipients: teenagers from the Triggio neighborhood; participants of the permanent social workshop of the Magnifico Visbaal Teatro
The artists will work from a practice developed with the Brussels based collective ‘TransfoCollect’, that starts from who the performers are as human beings. What keeps them up at night, what makes them angry? Considering that the human being is not a ‘single story’ but has many sides to explore. For the research in Italy the starting point will be the book “Home around the world” by the photographer Elliott Erwitt, who travels to different places around the world to capture the meaning of life. We will think about what home means: What happens if you need to leave your home? In several dictionaries, home is referred to as a place but can home also be a feeling, or a person?

THE CONTEXT
Magnifico Visbaal Teatro
The Magnifico Visbaal Teatro was born in 2005 in Benevento. The group carries out research that ranges between theatre and various sounds, even in unconventional spaces. In addition to theatrical events, it carries out social and educational projects, in collaboration with institutions, public and private bodies. In 2013, it inaugurated the theatre hall, which hosted – and still hosts – world-class companies. In 2015, the theatre was destroyed by a terrible flood and, after two years, the company managed with great efforts to move the venue to another place. Today, it is considered a cultural garrison present in the Samnite and Campania territory in a constant and widespread manner.
